I like the $1 option. Thanks Runk.

Everybody likes that option. It's not always about the fancy stuff, it's about what works and what looks good working. That's how I can get away so cheaply with my builds.
Take my Suburban for example. Any normal builder would have put over $600 into a truck like that on shiny new parts that contradict real trucks. I built something a little different that most people seem to like. I did it by improvising and buying used parts. I mostly built it using parts that are more than 15 years old. You could practically call it a vintage RC! It performs very well too. The guys here can vouch for that. 2009 comp #5 anyone? I did it all with less than $300 too.

I agree Blazerbogger. "BUT" Im starting to get a little lazy in the building area. And Im starting to like all those shinny parts I can put on my RC that I would never be able to build on a 1:1 $300 in a RC vs $30,000 in a 1:1

I'm on board with that, save a couple of bucks whenever I can. My 2.2 comp tube frame just took time, and the clod axles with speed control and other parts $90 on ebay. The 2.2 CJ-6 frame was $60 worth of Delrin and fun to build, even have delrin left over. Axial parts was the big investment. The body is from a New Bright toy, the rest of the New Bright parts went to V Tech for a project. The big investment as I see it is time, but thats what a hobby is all about, and fun.
