Gonna try to make a steel framed something? I got a proline pickup body but not sure if that will be used for the final body but needed something to build it around.

Nice work there, better than most I've seen done like that. I was thinking most people start with square and Mapp and bend it the cut it in half to get two frame rails, b ut shoot your doing good like that.

Ha ha funny you mention that cause after I got about halfway thru welding it I realized it would have been much easier doing it that way. The one thing that is nice about welding the sections together is that the cross section doesn't change size or get pinched or narrow where the bend would be. I might make another one if this one turns out good and try the bending method on it.

Haven't done too much on the build since last post but I did get in some new 1.55 rims and tires. These things are so sweet I am very impressed with the way these things look. Oh the one thing I did do was make some crossmembers out of aluminum bar on the front and back. I'm debating on which axles to use. I was gonna go the cheap way and use some axial ones but seems like they are a little too wide. Might have to go with the T-rex 35, 40 or even the mini 44's. I really want to mount the motor up front and use this planetary gear unit I saw online and then get a transfer case too.

Well slight change of plans... with all the $$ it was gonna take to build this the way I wanted and how impatient I am I decide to just buy an SCX-10 and use the tranny, axles. However after looking at it I decided to just put it together as it was intended and use the frame I made on another build. So here's some pics with the wheels and body.

HOLY CHIT DUDE! That's a sweet looking Chevy you got there! These 1.5's are becoming the new craze.

Your taillights are on sideways by the way.
It's also not a Blazer; did those emblems come with that pro-line body? Because it's too long to be a Blazer.

I might have to model one of my Chevy's after this.

Whoops I guess they are backwards... um as far as the blazer emblems they came with the proline body I might have to make my own emblems as I agree with ya it's way too long to be a blazer. I was also thinking about putting in round headlights to make it look more like a 78 or 79 pickup. Here's a couple more in the snow. Gotta add some more details to it too like mirrors and stuff. What do you make your mirrors out of?

Got rid of the rectangular decal headlights and added some circular light buckets to get it lookin more like a 79 pickup instead of and 80's pickup and added an exhaust pipe.
