Just finished my berg and in testing have come across a problem some of you may have experienced. I'm running a three cell li-po, 45 turn motors, 12 tooth pinions and a hitec 7955tg steering servo w/ micro servo for dig. I opted not to install a BEC since the ESC has an internal. The problem is that when I get the steering bound up the ESC will occasionally shut down. As soon as I pick the truck up the wheels go straight and the unit comes back on. The thing will not come back on by giving it time to cool off or allow batt surface voltage to rise above the cutoff point. I believe my two new batteries are fully charged and I have the low voltage cutoff properly set. I dont think it's an overtemp problem as cold as it is. Any suggestions welcome as this is driving me nuts and will kill me in a comp.

i've heard of, and seen alternative wiring configurations when using bec's. jason (crawldaddy) had a sidewinder that was wired per specs and having the same problem. he found a thread about alternative wiring on rcc, rewired it, and it worked like a charm. mine did the same thing, but i just took it to dave pack and he rewired it. dave pack's was doing it and it was the micro spektrum reciever causing it.

Figured it out. I was thinking the BEC was only acting as a regulator for the steering servo but more importantly it serves to run the servo current around rather than through the ESC. Glad Tekin thought to add the overtemp safety cut off or I'd have probably burned it up.
