I could'nt stop at one, so I had to get another. Knowing what I know now from the first. I took the axles apart as soon as I opened the box to check the angle of the teeth on the spools, and to check the spool shims. The spool teeth are both good. The front spool was tight as Dick's hat band. So I removed a shim on each side and that put it where it needed to be. The rear was good with all four shims. Then I used a drill & tap to put the grease ports on both axles, pumped them full of grease, and used a 3mm grub screw to plug the hole. Next it was on to the CVD's.

This one came with the V2's, so I just made sure the set screw was tight, put some grease and heat shrink on each one and they where done. Did the same to the drive shafts. While the axles where off I put a small piece of fuel tubing inbetween the rod ends on the skid plate end of the links to keep them in place. Next I removed the stock battery tray and added my E.X.P. tray, and mounted up the steering servo. I set-up some weighted wheels and tires. Made a few link, and shock adjustments??? Then on to the electronincs.

Metal Militia wrote: nice, how those drill jigs working out for you Pretty good. I had to make a bushing for the bigger of the two because I had given you the sizes, then I ordered 5/16 delrin. No biggie. I should have had my Chit together. The pilot hole is just a tad large for the bits. I put a couple turns of masking tape around the bit to keep it centered. A little hard to get going, but in the end, the result where nice.

I made a temp light from a link I got from RCC. Adjusted it to turn on at 120*, and the hoter the motor gets the brighter the light gets.

The diagram is for a adjustable fan control unit for a PC. I changed it to work with a LED. It uses a mosfet, a thermistor, a POT, a resistor, and a LED. The thermistor is in the loop that goes around the motor. The Pot is in the red circle, the whole unit is in the yellow circle.

Change of plans for this (what was going to be a sportsman class rig). It will be a MOA. I have never run a MOA. So Im having trouble with this change over in the since that, I feel like Im taking off everything that makes a Losi, a Losi. Not sure if I will like it in the end, or if it will be worth the time and money. But then again, it might be the shizz... Apparently, its a risk Im willing to take. Neutral about the whole thing at the moment. With everything off the chassis, it sits as high as it can go. May have to change springs. Havent really made much progress. Painted the mounts flat black, and put the BLC Re-Gear, 48 pitch gears on. Im not even gonna try the 32 pitch gears that come with the MOA kit. Getting ready to order two 35T motors. Not sure what brand yet, more than likely they will be integy V11's. And Im going to pre-order a Novak M2 Dig ESC. The M2 will give me front/rear dig, and allow me to control clod stall from my DX3R. Its pretty sweet!!! Nothing like buying a rig, then changing everything on it??? Some time you feel like a nut

cool idea I like it! I'll be interested to see how it compares to your other losi when it's done.

I was goofing off in the garage today and put My Trinity 550 motor on the front axle with the Sidewinder ESC just to check wheel speed. It had MUCH!!! was lacking in the torque department though, but I had a 13T pinion on it because it was the only pinion I could find in my box that didnt have a collar on it. A 10T should work better. Anyone know if a Sidewinder will handle two 21T 550 motors? Also, if a Novak M2 Dig has a motor limit of two 33T 540 motors on 3s. Will it run two 21T 550 motors? My thinking is: a 550 motor has more wire per turn than a 540 so maybe the two will equil out to be about the same ohms. I dont know???

Did some mock up using a 55T motor so I would know where to drill and mount the battery and receiver trays.

Randy try a Bettlejuice v3. I got the pic from a build on RCC. If I end up liking the MOA I may try one myself. Now Im reading everyone is having touse 4s lipo's. I wanted to use a Novak M2 Dig ESC, but it is only good for 3s. 3s and 45T motors maybe????

i have my mocked up on my old rock show chassis, i just had to drill some more holes for the upper mounts. i may just to pick up the rock show stage chassis (like i'm using now on the berg) and go from there. guaranteed you this, this will be a slow build since i'm running low on free time this month...
as for electronics, i plan on running dual FX-R with HH 35T on HH 3-cell lipos. with the BLC gearing, that should be enough speed...

Not much going on with this build at the moment. I did order some motors. http://www.fantomracing.com/proddetail. ... d=FAN29100Everything on the HH site is out of stock. I kinda like the fantoms better anyway, with the 10mm comm. I also have a Novak M2 Dig ESC on pre-order. Let the wait begin.

The Fantom motors came in awhile back. Got-em installed and ran a few test runs. Fantoms are kick @$$ motors . I picked up a set of used Mayhem wheels with rovers already mounted from RCC. They should be an improvement over the too short Losi rock claws. The Comp Crawler should come with the comp claw tires. Oh well. Still waiting on the Novak M2 dig, it may be awhile. Im glad I modded the gear covers that came with the MOA kit. As you can see in the picture they have some rock rash.

Burnt the Castle Creations Sindewinder ESC today. Dont know if it was from running two 35T motors or letting my son drive it . But anyway, its toast.
